I just listened to Tracy Chapman and Luke Combs and cries from the opening lines to the end. I’m old enough to have heard the original when it was new but in the background, not knowing a single word. Thank you for opening up for me a new way to truly experience the soul of great music.
As a musician I loved your discussion with Andy Crouch. I just wanted it to go on and on. I listen in the night hours and was thinking of my own composers I love. Sara Groves is one. She does life, struggle, joys and sorrows. But, Curtis, you must go to Arvo Pärt. I can just see you sitting in the night hours being transported into another realm. When you read about his life and inspiration you will “get” him.
